Music for Dogs

Music for Dogs Cover for Music for Dogs

Track 1: Project One - 9:18 ( 3.8Mb high bitrate mp3 ) ( 4.1Mb high bitrate wma )

Project one was the first song Lennox and John wrote together.  It reflects the ebb and flow of life and the human ability to adapt and overcome obstacles thrown into the paths of their lives.

Set the wheels in motion

The dynamo of life

Begin the friction of energy

Within the unknown mind

(spoken)

Once in a lifetime, we couldn't even see... the mirror reflecting us... our innocent infancy.

The undertow devours souls

The circle we call life

In the vast dark ocean

We sail hoping to find

Oasis of salvation

That nurtures and let's us fly

When will “the dream” come true?

Reality show itself

Will our feet ever touch the ground?

Regain our identity

We can make our dreams come true

Regain our identity!

(spoken)

But now we see the darkness lift, the light of a bright blue sky, we're no longer adrift; the winds will shift... now we will survive…

The waves of fear that cradle us

And carries against freewill

Swelling high infinity

Is all the eye can see

Hope's the fuel that gives us peace

And carries us through our lives

Once in a lifetime, we couldn't even see

The mirror reflecting us

Our innocent infancy

But now we see the darkness lift,

The light of a bright blue sky,

No longer adrift, the winds will shift...

Now we will survive…

Now I will survive!

Track 2: Music for Dogs - 10:19 ( 4.9Mb high bitrate mp3 ) ( 4.9Mb high bitrate wma )

Music for dogs reflects the sometimes tenuous relationships between canine familiaris and homo sapiens sapiens.  The harsh reality is that canines need us more than we need them in this modern world.  They have sacrificed much to be our companions.

(shouting)

W hat the hell is this? You call this music? This is no music for humans... its music for dogs!

Can you see me lying?

Can you see me crying?

As I live for you

Can you be my lover?

Can you earn my trust?

Feeling me leaving me inside

Feeling me leaving you outside

Feeling me leaning on your side

Feeling me weeping as I cry

Absent feelings, drown in tears

As I'm needing, wade in fear

I am told to wait in here

Live in fear I cannot hear

Absent feelings, drown in tears

As I'm needing, wade in fear

I am told to wait in here

Live in fear I cannot hear

I can see you coming

I can see you laughing

As you live for you

I can't be your lover

You can't gain my trust

Feeling me leaving you outside

Feeling me leaving you to die

Save my heart from the fire

Burning deep within your soul

Absent feelings, drown in tears

As I'm needing, wade in fear

I am told to wait in here

Live in fear I cannot hear

Absent feelings, drown in tears

As I'm needing, wade in fear

I am told to wait in here

Live in fear I cannot hear

Track 3: Cycles - 6:04 ( 0.9Kb low bitrate mp3) ( 0.9Kb low bitrate wma) Instrumental

Lennox and John both have individual solo pieces on the album.  The first of which is "Cycles" written by Lennox originally in a program called Mod Tracker about a year before John and Lennox began to work together.   Once decided upon to be a solo tune, Lennox took on the task of exporting and recreating the song within the context of our current software and instruments. The Song its self is about changing of the day, and the days into seasons.

Track 4: Prelude No. 1 - 2:03 ( 0.4Kb low bitrate mp3 ) ( 0.4Kb low bitrate wma ) Instrumental tribute to J. S. Bach

John's solo production is a recreation of J. S. Bach's Prelude One from a Well Tempered Klavier, Vol. 1.  For many years John has been a fan and admirer of electronic artists who transcribe into a modern performance classical works.  John emphasis's was on the arpeggiated nature of the original work, and adding a melodic line not appearing in the original work.

Track 5: Sea 99 - 4:20 (0.6Kb low bitrate mp3) (0.6Kb low bitrate wma) Instrumental Tribute to Carl Sagan

Sea 99 is a musical journey to the nether reaches of the musical soul.  Carl Sagan helped lead the public to greater understanding and a deepening awe for the universe that surrounds our tiny green and blue sphere, thus we wanted to reflect that sense of awe and the wonderment of life that is being a living creature able to contemplate the paradox of being animate matter.

Track 6: Four Billion Years - 2:06 ( 0.3Kb low bitrate mp3 ) ( 0.3Kb low bitrate wma ) Instrumental

Four Billion Years is a short experimental piece mostly consisting of percussive expressions and wildly improvised synth leads.  The piece bursts forth like creation its self.

Track 7: When you become naked - 4:59 ( 0.7Kb low bitrate mp3 ) ( 0.7Kb low bitrate wma )

"Naked" is an aggressive intelligent industrial techno work embodying the power of sexuality and the subsequent angst regarding the expression of such.

You become naked

Shedding your skin

Sweatin' and droolin'

You wanna dive in

Churning like butter

You making me holler

Making me harder

I wanna slip in

Flogging ' n handcuffs

I wanna give in

Feeling the leather next to my skin

Suspended in harness

A hammering sound

Licking my lolly

I make you go down

Extra! Extra! Read all about it !

Like a couple of seatbelts we're making it click!

Sexual fusion starts a reaction

Like a handful of post-its

We're making it stick!

Churning like butter

You making me holler

Making me harder

I wanna slip in

Suspended in harness

A hammering sound

Licking my lolly

I make you go down

Sexual fusion starts a reaction

Like a handful of post-its

We're making it stick!

Bitch! Bitch! Bitch! Bitch!

Track 8: Rogue - 6:18 ( 3.8Mb high bitrate mp3 ) ( 3.8Mb high bitrate wma )

Rogue is about the desire and search for a life mate...

(Spoken)

A lone I search for one

To share a dream

Will you set it free?

And bring it to flight?

Come into a world

Of love and pride

Little did I ever know

What this world had in store for me

Walked so far and journeyed long

Solitary for some time

Yearned to see my dreams come true

All to see them crash and burn

Walk the long and winding road

I'm a rogue without a home

Can I be what I used to be?

A man without any misery

I can see inside of me

A man alone, can you set him free? Again…

A fortress standing tall

Walls that crumbled and turned to dust

All the love, striped away

All my pride, just cut away

All my happiness, torn away

A wound that bleeds and can't be healed

In a world so vast and cold

I cannot help but to feel alone

(Repeat chorus)

Solo

Walk the long and winding road

I'm a rogue without a home

Can I be what I used to be?

A man without any misery

I can see inside of me

A man alone, can you set him free? Again…

Track 9: Binding - 7:42 ( 4.8Mb high bitrate mp3 ) ( 5.2Mb high bitrate wma )

Binding is about loss; the untimely loss of a loved one; torn from the lives and love that bind all families together.

Standing here alone

Void inside me cold

Nothing numbs the pain

Of losing you today

Words left unspoken

Distance, left unbroken... unbroken ...

Will I ever get to be there by your side?

Waiting for the day to arrive

Hollowness within my soul

Binding love, heart inside it beats no more

Travel to a realm unknown

Far beyond the great divide

Rain fell slow

Needing shelter from the cold

Sifting through memories

Searching for one last glance... of you

Tears roll down my cheek

Time stands still for me... for me

Will I ever get to be there by your side?

Waiting for the day to arrive

Hollowness within my soul

Binding love, heart inside it beats no more

Travel to a realm unknown

Far beyond the great divide

I will remember you…

Aufiedersein ...
